66°33′ N — nordic design · arctic soul
One bag.
Every adventure.
The Naarwhal Forty — a 40-liter, cabin-sized travel backpack drawn to Nordic rules: one design, two colors, nothing that doesn't earn its weight. Built for weeks away, guaranteed for life.
$195 founder price · $225 after launch
N° 01The idea
E-commerce got cluttered.
We went the other way.
Endless variants. Decision fatigue. Bags designed for the algorithm, not the airport. The North has always answered this differently: make one good thing, make it last, stop there. Naarwhal makes exactly one bag.

N° 02The method
Built the way
the North builds things.
Nordic design isn't a look you apply at the end. It's a sequence: solve the problem, remove everything that isn't the answer, then make what's left survive a winter.
01
Function decides the form
The silhouette is square because a square packs flat and stands up on its own. Every pocket exists because a real trip demanded it.
02
Nothing extra
No shouting logos, no gimmick straps, no colorway of the month. One narwhal, tonal, low on the panel. Two colors, chosen once.
03
Made to outlive you
550 gsm tarpaulin, bar-tacked seams, hardware rated in kilograms. In the North you don't replace your gear — you inherit it.

N° 04The range
Our namesake keeps to
the far north.
Narwhals don't wander. They hold a band of cold water that runs from the Canadian Arctic across Greenland to Svalbard and the Russian high Arctic — the same latitudes that taught Northern Europe to build things that don't fail in the dark half of the year.
Warming ≈3.8× faster than the globe since 1979

N° 05The oath
Named for a whale we'd like
to keep around.
The narwhal has held that band of water for millions of years. It is melting in one human lifetime. So we build one durable thing instead of disposable dozens — and pledge 1% of gross revenue on every order to Arctic conservation. We name the partner and publish the first transfer before the first order ships.
— Buy fewer things.
— Buy better things.
— Take them everywhere.
Durability is the greenest feature a product can have.

N° 06The guarantee
If it fails you, we fix it.
For life. That's the deal.
Zipper, seam, strap, or buckle — repaired or replaced for the life of the product, original owner, excluding deliberate damage, cosmetic wear, loss and theft. A bag that lasts decades is the most sustainable bag we can make, and the only kind worth putting a narwhal on.
“Naarwhal isn't a venture-backed brand factory. It's a small company, one bag, and a stubborn Northern idea: buy the thing once, then go use it.”
